Processes that grind my gears rev 13 nov 2018 IST ................................................................................ Programming world now a days: "Lets install this npm to manage the gem to control the pip package used to perform " -- Anant Shri @anantshri | Twitter https://twitter.com/anantshri/status/726309162339037184 [30 april 2016] My oldest website began in 1998. (It's this one you're on!) I currently admin over 20 websites (updates, security, modernise code, etc) I somehow manage to do this without gulping, grunting, sassing, lessing, ... How? I know how to type. touch type! (And i use vim - blazing!) I know how to think. I'm organised as hell. None of those fads, uh i mean "tools", are gonna help me if i don't have real skills. ................................................................................ No dates on posts everything is changing so fast -- *especially* for technical stuff, how can someone make a post with no date, not even a year. I go look at the comments to see when the first ones were made. ................................................................................ No timezone on dates Especially when it's things like logs. i mean, c'mon! But even just a simple article these days -- the human world is moving so fast, and people around the world are reading your stuff, and English being the "common language" these days, may not even notice that you are writing from a whole different country and culture! ok you wrote this at 10am on 1 november 2018. Was that the time and date where you are? Where i am? Where your server is? _______________________________________________________________________________ written 30 april 2016 IST -- 0 --
