howto: cpanel - email forwarders rev 13 sep 2022 ↓ info ↓ make in cpanel ↓ standard forwarders ↓ import in cpanel ↓ export from cpanel ↓ issues with gmail ......................... info: aka "email aliases" They are saved in /etc/ ......................... make forwarders in cpanel: easy. just do it. To have multiple recipients, just add another forwarder of same source email with new recipient. ......................... standard forwarders: Domin address often used by admins and programs: abuse admin contact info postmaster security spam webmaster ......................... import forwarders in cpanel: Email -> Address Importer (not Forwarders :) ) Select "Fowarders" Import as CSV or XLS file. (can also use TXT file and select 'space' as delimiter, i think.) Next screen will show all the forwarders as in the file. Choose the domain for the users? I think only need that if source column is only usernames, not full 'username@domain' Yes, it worked fine with multiple domains in source addresses. Any duplicates were just silently overwritten. [27 sep 2021] ......................... export forwarders in cpanel: There isn't a way to export forwarders in cpanel. You make a csv file with headers Source, Target and content forwarder@domain.tld,target@domain.tld ......................... issues with gmail: Emails that are forwarded to a Gmail-based account are accepted by Google's mail servers, but never show up in your Gmail account. (WTF!) To solve this problem, go to Settings->Accounts, and add forwarders under the "Send mail as:" section. Then test the forwarding again. -- https://wiki.r4l.com/R4L/Services/Hosting/Email/Aliases/GMail _______________________________________________________ begin 27 sep 2021 -- 0 --
