   Addon domains are fully functional domains 
      Make them from within your cPanel: Domains - Addon domains 
      Just as with your primary domain, you can set up email addresses, 
         forwarders, etc. 
     The difference is there is no separate control panel --
        the files of your addon domain share your primary domain's cPanel.

    Can't remove - even though addon screen gives that possiblity:
      "Because of the way that addon domains are configured the subdomains 
       created for them cannot be removed. They are essentially subdomains of 
       the primary domain which are aliased as the addon domain name."

         requires a major change in how addons are done, so not feasible so far.
