Reading – 9 June 2019

  • Reading randomly in Ajahn Sumedho Anthology, Vol. 2, Seeds of Understanding. o god. so good.
  • Re-reading Pirsig’s Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance for the nth time, after a very long time. It caught my eye in the book shop, and i was curious how it would read after so many changes and understandings in my life. It’s very interesting. Seeing it from such different angles. And still a great book!
  • Now on Volume 7 of Osamu Tezuka’s Buddha — amazing eight-volume manga-style graphic novel of the Buddha’s life. Plan was to slowly savour it a chapter at a time, but as usual am devouring it a book at a time. I first saw and read some of this at a restaurant in McLeod Ganj, and had been wanting so much to have it to read whenever i want. But, expensive. And would have to order, complicated in India. Then a couple weeks ago there it was, staring me in the face at another book shop. The only copy. Told myself, i can’t afford it, went home. Next week, went back. It is miiine. Have lent two of the volumes out already, which was part of the Master Plan, and justification for the extravagance. 😀
